It is reasonable to ask why then are First and Last Mile and many other operators not participating in the bus far cap scheme. The answer is simply that the amount of compensation offered is well below what would be needed to sustain the fare cap. Through-ticketing with Stagecoach is still on the cards and offers passengers a long-term and sustainable option offering better value for money. This will be introduced as soon as practicable for both parties.
Until then we would recommend that regular passengers take advantage of our 12 trip tickets costing £25. These offer savings almost on par with the Bus Fare Cap and reward the loyalty of our passengers. These tickets can be used by several people travelling together, have no time limits set and will still be available when the Bus Fare Cap ends.
