Mike Ward, Going Forward Buses

It is with deep regret that FLM has learned of the passing of Mike Ward, founder and proprietor of Going Forward CIC. It is impossible to overstate Mike's achievements in creating and maintaining bus services based out of Goring. He took over the 134 service between Goring and Wallingford in January 2017 and ran it until August 2025. In addition he ran many shopper services and established the Wallingford Town Service last year.

FLM bought its first bus Rumble from Mike and in our desperate opening months loaned us another so that we could keep going. He was also an invaluable source of advice over many years and in many ways an inspiration for us all.

Mike achieved so much with limited resources against the odds. It was an extraordinary triumph and FLM is very sorry to learn this sad news. Our condolences go to his family and friends. He will be very much missed.
